Family Advent Resources

How will you be leading the hearts of those in your family to prepare for Christmas? As a resource to you, our Fellowship Family Ministry Staff has put together an Advent Family Guide with the busy family in mind. This simple daily prayer said together, will remind all your family members that God is with us. For those desiring more, we’ve compiled a list below of recommended family Advent resources. We’ve included some suggestions on activities you can do with your kids around NWA this December. Draw near to each other as you draw near to Him!

Family Activities

Christmas Light Drive:  Plan a night to look at the lights, ending with a hot chocolate date at a local coffee shop.
Ice Skating: Visit the outdoor rink at the Bentonville Square or indoor rink at the Springdale Jones Center.
Friday Night Movie Night:  Pick out your favorite Christmas movie and invite a family to watch with you – keep it simple with popcorn & cider.
Holiday I Spy Game: Make a list of 10 things to “spy” then take a walk or drive, allowing your kids to check off the list.
Downtown Square Lights: Visit one of the NWA downtown squares for the evening – Fayetteville and Bentonville are pretty spectacular.
Nativity Play: Find a free local nativity play, often performed by a church or Christian school.
Service Project:  Pick a charity, soup kitchen, or classroom to serve together.
Family Christmas Play: Act out the Christmas story at the local senior center, assisted living, or neighborhood.
Christmas Basket: Have every member of your family add an item to a basket they think a person their age would like, then share it – does NOT need to be Pinterest perfect.
